EcoSense Int. Moving Forward… Plunging Deep into New Installations

April 15, 2021

Port St. Lucie, Florida – April 8 & 9, 2021

After two weeks of excavating and well point pumping, the Kingsway project in Port St. Lucie was finally ready for our twin sister EcoVault® installation. Steel I-beams were firmly fastened underground in order for five pieces of concrete to be pieced and molded together, some of the pieces weighing over 68,000 pounds alone. Each complete EcoVault structure at this site weighs in at 180 tons! The site of this installation was off of the St. Lucie River on Floresta Drive in Port St. Lucie, Florida.

The purpose of the EcoVault is the removal of heavy metals, nutrients, oil/grease capture, sediment, and total suspended solids (TSS) from flowing water. EcoVaults are Type II Stormwater Treatment Systems designed to filter water and capture pollutants/contaminants. The unique design facilitates maximum particulate capture. For more information on EcoVaults, please visit the Products page of our website.

This installation was federally funded. The city of Port St. Lucie is focusing on bettering environmental practices and the installation of EcoSense International’s twin sister EcoVaults was one of their many steps in the right direction, towards sustainable change. We were excited to work alongside the city in being able to jumpstart their green initiatives in protecting the Indian River Lagoon (IRL). The IRL is an estuary of national significance!
